All about sugaring

What is it made of?

• Sugar is a natural paste made of sugar, water, and lemon
• Wax is made of chemicals and resins.

How it affects your skin

• Sugar gives great exfoliation and can go over the most sensitive skin without sticking to the live skin.
• Sugaring leaves your skin smooth for days.
• Shaving takes time and can over-exfoliate causing the skin to turn darker.
• Shaving can nick, cut or scrape your skin.
• Wax is very hot and can burn or cause inflammation.
• Wax can pull microlayers and skin and has a better chance of tearing the skin.

Benefits

• Sugar removes the hair in the direction of growth.
• Wax pulls hairs in the opposite direction causing distorted hair follicles, which can lead to more ingrown hairs.
• Shaving cuts the hair at an angle and grows back thicker and darker.

• DON'T go into hot tubs, hot baths, or dirty water after sugaring, hair follicles are open and you don't want bacteria to enter.
